Chicago

So...we moved to Chicago and it feels like we've lived here for a lot longer than four weeks!!! Lily is absolutely loving it here. We get to go to the zoo for free whenever the heck we want. Lily loves to get up to the glass and look at the gorillas. She jumps up and down and squeals when they get close. We take Scott to the bus stop every morning and then run along the beach.

She loves her cousin Ollie and when we ask her what she wants to do today or what she did today she just says "Ollie." There are parks everywhere and Lily loves to play at every single one of them. She has found a favorite spot to sit…on my kitchen footstool. She likes to read, eat and do secretarial work on it. It’s pretty funny to watch her play on it. Scott bought us a new stroller when we got here and we lug it up and down the stairs of our apartment several times a day.

Grandma Alyson and Grandpa Mark visited us the first week we were here…thanks to some work Grandpa Mark had in this area. We bought her some sunglasses and she wears them every time we go outside and when we took her diaper off at the park she decided to show the ducks EVERYTHING!!!

Since we live by the beach we decided it was important to get Lily used to feeling the sand between her toes. Like everything else, she wasn’t so sure of it at first but now she likes it more. We went to Millennium Park when Tommy and Nicole visited us from Michigan and she loved the fountain and the bean.

She finds friends wherever she goes…at the Embodi booth (now being sold at Whole Foods nationwide), on walks, at the zoo, the beach, the park…wherever. She says “hi” to everyone that walks by and when her hair is in a pigtail no one can resist her.

It has been an adjustment and we miss having family and friends so close. But, Coby, Kristal, Oliver and Aaron are definitely helping with the transition!! Enjoy the pictures and we love you all!!!

Leaving Utah

Disclaimer: Because Scott loves his job so much and is super busy with it, Ashley has taken over as blog master. Therefore, the posts will no longer be as funny or clever, but they will be cuter because Lily gets cuter every single day of her life.

Scott got a job in Chicago and before we knew it we were on our way out of Utah. We did lots of visiting family and said way too many goodbyes. Scott went to Chicago three weeks before us so he got to miss the horrific feeling of saying goodbye (or, like so many people said to make me feel better...which, FYI, didn't make me feel better, "see ya later"). Lily got lots of pictures taken with family and friends that we love so much in Utah. She loved to wait by the door for her grandparents to come visit her...or better yet, wait outside! Oggie was one of her favorite "toys" at Grandma Alyson's house. It was not enjoyable to say goodbye but we are grateful to have so much love in Utah and know that Lily will never live a day in her life without being loved.
